A replica Cartier Pasha is an unauthorized copy of the Cartier Pasha, a watch Cartier introduced in 1985 and relaunched in 2020. Cartier sells the current Pasha in 35 mm and 41 mm cases with the 1847 MC automatic movement. Replicas copy the case shape, the four bezel screws, and the crown cap with chain. They do not use Cartier movements, and most do not match the original case thickness.
What the original Pasha is
Cartier launched the Pasha in 1985. Gérald Genta designed it. The design has a round case, four screws on the bezel, a screw-down crown cap on a chain, and a dial with Arabic numerals on some versions. Cartier relaunched the line in 2020 with the 1847 MC movement: automatic, 23 jewels, 28,800 vph, 42-hour power reserve. Cartier lists 100 m water resistance, sapphire crystal, and a steel or gold case. The 41 mm steel Pasha is 9.55 mm thick.
Replica tiers and price bands
Sellers use replica, first copy, and mirror quality as labels for the same product class. Listing prices fall into three bands.
- $60 to $120: 316L steel case, mineral glass, quartz or low-grade automatic movement, fixed crown cap, 11 mm to 13 mm thick.
- $150 to $250: Miyota 9015 or Seagull ST21 movement, sapphire crystal on some units, working crown cap, 10.5 mm to 11.5 mm thick.
- $300 to $450: clone 1847 MC or ETA 2824 clone, sapphire crystal, dial print closer to the original, 9.6 mm to 10.5 mm thick.
These bands come from listing prices on replica sites. No independent lab data on replica movements is public.
Specs to compare
- Case thickness: original 41 mm is 9.55 mm. A caliper reading above 10.5 mm on a 41 mm replica points to a different case build.
- Movement: original 1847 MC runs at 28,800 vph with 42 hours of reserve. A Miyota 9015 runs at 28,800 vph with 42 hours. A Seagull ST21 runs at 28,800 vph with about 40 hours.
- Crown cap: the cap unscrews on the original, and the chain connects cap to case. On low-tier replicas the cap is fixed or glued.
- Crystal: original uses sapphire. A water drop spreads on sapphire and beads on mineral glass. A steel pick scratches mineral glass.
- Water resistance: original is rated to 100 m. Replica sellers do not publish test data. Do not swim with a replica.
Checks before you buy
- Ask for a caliper photo of case thickness at the lugs.
- Ask for a video of the crown cap unscrewing and the chain moving.
- Ask for a macro photo of the dial print and the caseback screws.
- Ask which movement is installed and for a photo of the rotor.
- Check the return policy in writing.
